A customised, multi-format library management platform for a community library group, supporting books, toys, magazines, and CDs across multiple branches with end-to-end member, inventory, and billing workflows.
The Challenge
Signet Library was running a four-format catalogue across multiple branches on disconnected spreadsheets and legacy tools. Issue-and-return tracking, damaged-item recovery, subscription plan management, and payment reminders were eating staff hours and quietly leaking revenue.
Our Approach
We built a custom Library Information Management System covering all four product categories. The platform handled member onboarding, subscription plans, issue and return cycles, damaged-product workflows, multi-branch inventory, payment collection, and automated reminders. A movement analytics layer surfaced borrowing patterns and inventory hotspots — the kind of structured operational data foundation that intelligent recommendation engines are built on top of today.
The Outcome
Branch operations were unified under a single source of truth. Member retention rose through structured reminders, and revenue leakage from damaged or unreturned items dropped meaningfully across the network.
