A peer-to-peer money exchange platform for Chynge, intelligently matching users who hold different currencies with users who need them — using geolocation and market-referenced rates to enable cost-efficient currency exchange.
The Challenge
Traditional currency exchange is expensive, opaque, and slow. Chynge wanted a marketplace where two users with complementary currency needs could meet directly, using a transparent market-referenced rate — but the matching, location handling, and trust workflow had to be airtight in a category where mistakes are unforgiving.
Our Approach
We built the matching engine that paired users posting currency-exchange requests with the closest, most compatible counterparties using geographic proximity and current market rates as inputs. The platform handled request creation, smart matching, rate transparency, and step-by-step guidance through the in-person exchange. The constraint-based decisioning engine is precisely the kind of substrate that, in today's stack, is naturally extended with AI recommendation layers.
The Outcome
Chynge launched a working peer-to-peer FX marketplace with structured matching, transparent pricing, and a defensible operational foundation in a regulated, trust-sensitive vertical.
